2016 - A year in flowers

2016 - A year in flowers

January is a time of reflection on the old and resolutions for the new, right? At Narcissus, we used this time to look back over 2016 and were filled with thoughts of amazingly found memories of celebrations with our customers. Whether they were selecting flowers for an anniversary, a thank you gift, a holiday centerpiece or the celebration of a loved ones birthday, we enjoyed creating floral representations of their love in each season of 2016. We thought we would share some of those with you today and help inspire new beginnings of celebration for 2017!

Winter - While Winter is not typically a season of abundance when it comes to flowers, it is the perfect season to gift flowers because they are a rare beauty during the coldest months. For Winter 2016, we selected birch boxes as vessels, succulents to represent endurance and pale colors in champagne, white and pink to complement the cold weather but bring warmth to our customer's homes.

Spring - Tulips are typically one of the first signs of spring, so they are an obvious choice to celebrate new life and warmth in springtime. Orchids are another favorite and with bright vibrant purples, pinks, reds and greens, they bring a joyous spirit to everyone. We loved creating these arrangements with classic springtime blooms, but giving them a modern twist with little details, like berries and hand tied elements.

Summer - Our favorite season here on the Jersey Shore, summer brings new life to our area. For our 2016 Summer Florals, we brought lots of colors together to shine bright and cheerfully. Yellows, Oranges, Blues, Greens and Purples were all favorites. We also loved to showcase the Hydrangea due to its depth of blooms and abundance in our area, paying tribute to beautiful Jersey Shore summer nights.

Autumn - For our autumn 2016 collection, we played with the contrast between dark and light, cool and hot, much like the diversity we felt in weather during those months. We loved the dark burgundy set with cool blue-green foliage and the slightest touch of pink in this Antique Roses and Hydrangea bouquet. Our Rose, Orchid and Berry Delight arrangement brought another level of diversity with vibrant color. This one was always fun to create with the delicate roses paired with the structured orchid and berry. We picked two very different autumn bouquets here to celebrate a season full of color and celebration.

We loved creating new, vibrant florals for you throughout 2016! We thank all our customers for a wonderful year and wish you all many more celebrations in 2017! Now to start brainstorming our 2017 collections :-)
