It’s the holiday season; a time to gather with loved ones. What you will need:
- A Vessel to hold your Arrangement (Oversized Glass, Chalice, or Teapot)
- Flower Foam
- Hearts Roses
- Green Hydrangea
- Holiday Greens (White Pine, Boxwood, Fraser Fir)
- Flat Cedar
- Lotus Pod
- Eucalyptus
- Ornaments (Red and Gold Ornament Balls)
- Cymbidium Orchid
- Craspedia Balls
Step 1: Choose a vessel to hold your flower arrangement. We recommend a low smaller vessel such as an oversized glass, a chalice, container glass, or even a teapot!
Step 2: Insert flower foam into your container. The porous material will add support as you build your arrangement.
Step 3: Insert hearts roses into the floral foam. Place the roses (about three) on one side of the arrangement. We call this color blocking.
Step 4: Time to add some green! We recommend mini green hydrangeas to complement the rich red color of the roses. Tip: the mini hydrangeas hold up very well in the flower foam compared to larger hydrangeas.
Step 5: Staying in the green family, the addition of holiday greens adds height and a seasonal aromatic touch. Start off by adding the most lateral of the bunch which is the white pine.
Step 6: Now, incorporate the flat cedar. The flat cedar is beautiful foliage this time of year, as it is rich and green and soft to the touch.
Step 7: Fill in empty spaces with boxwood.
Step 8: For additional texture, add a lotus pod to the mix. This will bring a golden hue to your arrangement.
Step 9: For added color, place in some seeded eucalyptus. The silver sage tone will complement the rich green colors in the arrangement.
Step 10: Time to incorporate some ornaments! We recommend red and gold 50-millimeter ornaments.
Step 11: Now for the finishing touches! Top it off with a Cymbidium orchid at the center of the arrangement. For additional texture and added height, incorporate Craspedia balls. (As a rule of thumb, the ideal height for the craspedia balls is one and a half times taller than your arrangement). Lastly, fill in any empty gaps of the arrangement with the eucalyptus.
