The wedding of Emily and Bart at The Ashford Estate was an extra special wedding for us at Narcissus because of our close relationship with the bride and her family! To see Emily walk down the aisle and help make her wedding day vision come to life was truly heartwarming.
The Ashford Estate created a fabulous backdrop. With three separate buildings, surrounded by hundreds of acres of preserved farmland, the estate presented a lush locale to celebrate our couple. We were mesmerized by the extensive gardens and floating gazebo, artfully illuminated at night.
The main building houses guest rooms, a beauty salon, a private bar, sitting room and solarium. Emily requested a tall vase of gilded leaves to welcome guests in the sitting room as they located their place cards. For cocktail hour the solarium was accentuated with small collections of roses and candles. We felt safe and cozy in the room of glass as a rainstorm approached.
The rustic chapel provided the ceremony location. Utilizing the simple elegance of the barn, the tall mantle was decorated with collections of hydrangea, cascading eucalyptus and taper candles. The hearth was filled with various sized pillar candles, which provided a glow within the barn, the only illumination in the space. After cocktails, the guests and bridal party walked along brick pathways and past stone fountains to retreat into the Grand Ballroom for the reception. With towering ceilings and walls of windows the romance and magic of the day continued.Emily selected varied centerpiece styles. Two tall centerpiece designs added a vertical element to the vast expanse of the room.A low collection featuring a footed bowl balanced the tall styles luring guests into conversation across the table.
Emily's sophisticated look was a perfect complement for The Ashford Estate. The cascade of phalaenopsis orchids in her bouquet and the phales in the Mother of the Bride's hair were exquisite details. The bridesmaids’ black classic dresses were emphasized with bouquets of blush garden roses, seeded eucalyptus and wrapped in ivory silk ribbon. The groom continued the black & white classic look with a black tuxedo and white boutonniere.
As we were setting up, the bridesmaids came to us and quietly asked for some rose petals to decorate the bridal suite. We gave them a big bunch of white roses and they scattered tons of petals for the newlyweds to discover after the reception. The luxurious guest suites are so tastefully decorated, we know this final touch to the bridal suite was the perfect end to Emily & Bart’s memorable wedding day!
