There’s so much to love about summer. Fresh air. Warm weather. Beach days. But, our all-time favorite part of the sunny season is the vibrant, beautiful blooms. Striking hues and rich fragrances fill our homes, gardens and flower shop. We have a wealth of stunning arrangements that are sure to brighten your day, but one of our favorites is the Blush and Beautiful. Using flowers that are readily available at your local grocery store or florist, you can create this stunning arrangement yourself!
What you will need:
- Glass Vessel
- Floral Wire
- 3 Blush/Pink Hydrangeas
- 5 Magenta or Vibrant Stock Flowers
- 3 White Roses
- Eucalyptus
- Lemon Leaf
- 1 Cymbidium Orchid
Step 1: Begin with your larger bloom and foundation flower, your hydrangeas, and set them in your hand between your thumb and index finger. You are going to want to create a tripod with the three blooms.
Step 2: Start to feed in your stock. Focus the stock on one side of the arrangement (fun fact: this is called color blocking)!
Step 3: Add your roses to the opposite side of the arrangement.
Step 4: Incorporate foliage to create a beautiful, subtle texture. Take your eucalyptus and pull it up through the roses and hydrangea.
Step 5: Finish off the bottom of this arrangement with some lemon leaf, which will protect the stems as you bind them with a floral wire.
Step 6: Invert the arrangement, go above your index finger and thumb, twist the floral wire around a few times and the arrangement will sit beautifully.
Step 7: Clean up the remainder of wire and cut the stems based on the size or height of the vessel of your choice.
Step 8: Last but not least, top the arrangement off with a cymbidium orchid. Voila!
