The use of fruit in floral arrangements dates back to the Renaissance. Luca Della Robbia, an Italian artist and sculptor from the 15th century, famously used fruit in tandem with flowers and greenery in his pieces. Today, “Della Robbia style” is mostly seen in Tuscan-inspired work, but describes all fruit-focused art, from floral arrangements to ceramic sculptures.
